Greetings On-Line Family  

I would like to thank all of you who supported us and our partners for your Mother's Day shopping needs.  I'm sure many of you who decided to use one of our partners for your shopping saw how convenient and easy it is to shop on-line, so continue to support our partners and remember by supporting them you are helping with all that we do and will be doing in the future here at Arious Entertainment.  

I would like to send a "Shout Out" to "DJ Jimmy T" whose annual Father's Day Event is coming up.  It will be taking place in Beltsville Maryland at the Pepper Pot Restaurant.  Stay tuned for more information on this, as the time draws near.  

We also would like to welcome to the community BJ's International Market which will be celebrating it's grand opening on May 27th, 2007.  It is located in Baltimore Maryland on Route 40 just at the city/county line near Catonsville.   This looks like it should be a very nice grocery store offering many products that many of you from the Caribbean remember from home.  Look out for more info. on this big grand opening.

We would like to thank all 35,000+ of you in our on-line family who have been receiving our e-mails over the last 4 years, of course we have grown a lot and we've had the opportunity to communicate one-on-one with many of you, and it's always great to meet new people and find out what's on their minds.

Since November we have had our "My Space" page www.myspace.com/ariousentertainment, which his has become another great communication tool.  We would like to just say thanks to our over 6000 new friends on Myspace, it's a pleasure meeting all of you and having you as friends.  Five years ago I never would have imagined that we would reach so many people (over 40,000 including Myspace) in a matter of seconds worldwide.  This is amazing technology.  Sometimes we don't realize it, but this truly is the 21st Century that was envisioned years ago.

As you can see our corporate partners are doing very well for us, but this e-mail blast really was not created for big business.  Of course it was created to promote music and entertainment because that is our main focus and passion, but what we would like to do is provide  a means of exposure for the small business.  Small businesses is the backbone of any strong community, the sad thing about a lot of small "mom and pop" businesses is they lack of a proper advertising budget to promote and sustain their business to create longevity.  I think a lot of these business are rolling with the psychic network, they seem to think that if they open the door people will come, but  that's not going to happen.  Advertising...Advertising...Advertising is the key to the success to any business, in addition to customer service, a good quality product and of course location is also very important, but if you don't advertise no one will know about your good quality product, great customer service and location.   

Another thing in this day and age every business needs is a website, a website is your personal address on the world wide web - every business should have an address on the world wide web.  I know that this whole internet thing is new and a lot of people over the age of 40 may not be familiar with how it all works, but one thing you need to know is if you are in business, you need a website, that's kind of like having a phone or a phonebook ad.  So if have a business and don't have a website you need to contact us immediately, we can help!   We can design a (basic 5-page website) complete with hosting and your domain name for 1 year for under $500.00, so contact us at ariousentertainment@earthlink.net . 

A few short years ago the yellow pages used to be the number 1 way to advertise your business because when you were looking for something the first place you went was to the Yellow Pages.  I can't tell you the last time I picked up a phone book...it's been years.  Now what do we do?  We Google it!!!  Let's say I would like some Jerk Chicken in Maryland, if you don't have a website or an internet presence when we Google "Jerk Chicken in Maryland", those businesses who does not have an internet presence will be left out, and I'll be getting my Jerk Chicken from the business with the internet presence.  The business with no website have just lost out on a very large % of potential new customers.  I actually tried Googling "Jerk Chicken in Maryland" and you know, not one Caribbean restaurant popped up until the 4th page.  The first 4 pages were non-Caribbean restaurant on the Eastern shore (beach)  that sell Jerk Chicken among other things.  It is quite clear that many of the Caribbean restaurants in the Washington/Baltimore MD area does not have an internet presence.  We have got to change this.  

Our next project at Arious Entertainment is something we have been kicking around for the last 2 years, but at this point I think we are ready to make it happen.  It's our city by city Caribbean Business directory.  For less than $10.00 a month your business can be listed on our directory with your business name, location, a brief description of your product and services, plus one picture of your business location or product.  This will also provide you with an internet presence.  One thing that will make this successful is the fact that we already have a base of 40,000 people who already receive our e-mails, and much of the proceeds will go towards advertising our new directory.  So if you have a Caribbean owned business or a business that caters to the Caribbean community, please contact us to find out more about being a part of this directory.  It's going to be great!!! ariousentertainment@earthlink.net
