Happy Memorial Day.  Let's salute the men and women who have fought, and died in the service of their country.    

Memorial Day - A day of remembrance of those who have died serving our country.  During this time it's excellent to honor our veterans and famous Americans by paying tribute to all those who have passed on while serving their great country.  For the history on Memorial Day PLEASE CLICK HERE!

We at Arious express our gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices the many brave women and men of the military services made, and is currently making during these perriless times, by putting themselves in harm's way while serving and defending this great nation for the sake of freedom for all Americans.

Memorial Day Weekend is also known to be the official "kick-off" of summer.  Therefore, folks used this weekend to spend time at family gatherings, at cookouts barbecuing and having picnics, and even attending and participating in sporting events.  This is also the time many rush to the beaches to relax and to soak up the sun, while many spend enormous amounts of time at their pools.  Whatever you do, please take some time to relax with friends and family, laugh, talk, and just have fun.  PRIMARILY, PLEASE ENJOY THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND, and be very safe if you are traveling out of town.  

As many of you may know this Memorial weekend is the official "kick-off" of the Caribbean Carnival Season in North America.  Atlanta Georgia Carnival, as well as Stone Mountain, Georgia Carnival, Orlando Florida Carnival, and San Francisco CA Carnival takes place, beginning on Friday, May 22 - May 25th.  I am certain many of you are very familiar with the festive Caribbean Carnival, which is similar to the "Mardi Gras" that takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The Caribbean Carnival is described as a festival full of color, full of costumes (Mas), full of music, full of dance, and filled with an array of ethnic foods and Caribbean art.  It is also known as a form of freedom - of letting yourself go on the day(s) of the event, while enjoying the music, parties, and all that is taking place during this festive time.  It's simply all about FUN...LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN!

Indeed Carnival is fantastic and extremely exciting.  Therefore, if you are heading to Atlanta GA, Stone Mountain GA, Orlando FL or San Francisco CA, check out the Carnivals and pay attention to the "mas" bands along the parade route with their lovely costumes.  With these electrifying events taking place Memorial Day Holiday Weekend is sure to be an exciting one.

Sunday, May 24, 2009: Pan Masters Steel Orchestra 2009 Pan Jamboree
Join Pan Masters for an evening full of entertainment, fun, food and sweet pan music.

6 Mas bands will be displaying their costumes, and for the kids there will be amusement games and bounces. 

Steel Pan Bands scheduled to perform are: (1) Adlib Steel Orchestra - Long Island, NY; (2) St. Veronica's Youth Steel Orchestra-Baltimore MD; (3) Pan Majestic - Baltimore, MD; (4) Positive Vibrations - Hyattsville, MD; (5) Pan Jammers - Washington D.C.; and (6) Pan Masters Steel Orchestra-North Brentwood, MD
