It's
been a while since I have vibed with you, and I certainly
miss it!!! Thanks to many of you for still inquiring
about Part 2 of "My Caribbean Story", even my
Mom have been asking when I will continue sharing it with
her and everyone. I will in the next week or
so...keep hanging in there for that!!!
Over the
Carnival weekend I didn't volunteer my services to my wife
Susan (DCCC Vending Coordinator) to help with her vending
project as I do every year, so I spent my time as a
spectator and was able to captured some great footage of the
parade, concert and all the happenings on the street
"The sight and sounds of DC Carnival". In
the last 9 years I have not had the opportunity to really
see and enjoy DC Carnival from a spectators point-of-view
because for a number of years we have had a band/float in
the parade, and once Susan had become a part of the DC
Carnival board, I decided to assist her with her projects on
the weekend of Carnival. Actually, Susan had
everything under control and was extremely organized (which
was great), and as you know organization is the major key to
pulling of an event of this magnitude. I must
congratulate her though, and give her some "big
props", because the last 5 years she has taken the
vending area from complete chaos to an organized,
professionally run operation. I will tell you more
about this in Part 2 of "My Caribbean Story".
One thing
I discovered, was DC Carnival and all of the band leaders
and masqueraders did a great job in exposing the culture of
the Caribbean and even the culture of Africa. it was a
very diverse festival this year. It's certainly what I
envisioned Carnival in DC should be. As you will see
in this special DVD, I captured and condensed 2 weeks of
events, starting with the Pan Jam, DiManche Gras (judging of
the costumes), the colorful masquerade bands in the parade,
and some of the entertainers. Actually you will have
an opportunity to see what DC Carnival is all about, from
what I saw and heard (my point-of-view.)
Many of
you on our on-line family who has heard me talk about this
Carnival, and who has not had an opportunity to attend this
event, will now be able to see it, feel it, hear it, and
enjoy it, as we all do. If you were at DC Carnival,
you might even be able to see yourself on the DVD.
This DVD
is a great keepsake and you should get a copy.
The DVD's release date is July 20, 2006, but we are taking
pre-orders at a special rate at $15.00 until the release
date (including shipping and handling). To order
scroll down the page to purchase your copy via paypal or
send your money order to Arious Entertainment, P.O. Box
1568, Glen Burnie, Maryland 21060.

Hey folks,
Carnival comes to Baltimore this weekend (the new home of
Arious Entertainment)! It seems the Carnival Committee
have a lot of exciting cultural and entertaining events
planned for this weekend starting on Friday after work, and
the parade will take place on Saturday kicking off at 1:00
pm (Scroll down for all the details.) So check this
out, it's normally a lot of fun.!!!! This festival takes
place in Druid Hill Park, which is a great park that has a
real nice setting with lots of trees surrounding the
festival area. Come out and enjoy the culture of the
Caribbean in Maryland. We plan to attend as we always
do, so you must know we are looking forward to it. It
you see us, please stop and say hello, we'll be the couple
"stuffing our faces" (we plan on going on an
eating spree).
Big up to
Elaine Simon and her Carnival Committee, keep up the good
work!!!!!
Until Next
Week, and have a safe and wonderful weekend!!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOUISIANA REGGAE FUNK BAND
HENRY TURNER JR. & FLAVOR
HURRICANE FUNDRAISING NORTHWEST TOUR DATES
JULY 14 THROUGH JULY 16, 2006
West Hollywood, CA Hit City Records recording artist HENRY TURNER, JR &
FLAVOR continue their Hurricane Fundraising Tour in the Northwest with
several in dates in Oregon. (See schedule below). HENRY TURNER, JR &
FLAVOR is Turner on guitar and vocals, Ronnie Houston on drums and Irie
Hipp on bass.
HENRY TURNER, JR. & FLAVORs unique genre of music - Louisiana
Reggae/Funk, with jazz, blues and R&B infusions has been described as… a
sure crowd pleaser. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the
band released two singles: GIVE ME LOVE, which was picked for downloads
by Hurricane Healing (www.hurricanehealing.us) and MERRY CHRISTMAS, which
garnered extensive airplay throughout the United States.
This year the band released Louisiana Legends and Poltricks, a
tongue-in-cheek look at local and national political leaders and their
slow response to improve human conditions since the recent rash of
hurricanes.
I Like to Smoke, Smoke, Smoke, (but I don't smoke dope) just released
in support of the upcoming Hemp Fest in Eugene, Oregon, is an anthem to
open mindedness and liberalism. The song is currently being featured on
the Marijuana Music Awards website at
www.myspace.com/marijuanamusicawards.
Additional radio play hits include Fat Baby, Limbo, Louisiana
Funk, Praising Jah and Family, on their Will Work For Money,
Facing Millennium and Louisiana Gumbo Combo CDs, which are currently

This reduction of financial

adversely affects the ability of the
Foundation to
carry out
its vision to equip and empower the Inner
City Youth
with Education and Skills Training. As
the island has not fully
recovered
from the damages
of
hurricane and floods and
is
already
in another hurricane season, the need for

assistance
is increased.

relationships). An education fund
was
established to ensure
