Dearest On-Line Family and Friends: Greetings to all of you!

This week is exactly 6 months and one week into the year, and it’s unbelievable to me that half of 2010 has gone by already.  Don’t you agree it has flown by?  I must point out though, it may have been an eternity to many of us due to being unemployed, and/or enduring several issues that resulted from the instability of the economy.  Whatever it may be, it’s absolutely important for all of us to acknowledge the significant progresses and accomplishments we have achieved in the first half of the year, and re-set our goals for the ones WE HAVE NOT.  We must understand the truly important things in life, I however imagine many of us have a lot to be proud of so far, and are thrilled because we know the best is yet to come.

As for us at Arious, we are disconnected from the [so-called] Normal lifestyle, and we attribute our successes to the fact that the life we live as business people are interesting and pretty much unconventional.  We are happy, somewhat free, surround ourselves with positive people, enjoy new interactions and find it fascinating talking business and just about everything with interesting people; plus building new and optimistic relationships and friendships with folks who are going in the same direction we are [UP].  Most importantly, we don’t focus on societal pressures to fit in, and we are passionate and inspired with our business (the concept, the growth, and the positive results of our work).

Perhaps after reading these few statements, many of you [among our online family] would somewhat follow in our footsteps so that you will forget about the regrets and disappointments you may have had during these first 6 months of 2010; and begin understanding the truly important things that exist during your time here on earth.  Additionally, so that you can realize there is a full 6 more months to change your futures and to making your lifestyle cool, creative and exciting (such as ours…LOL).

Have a wonderful and winning 2nd Half of 2010 ~~ Take control ~~ Believe in yourself ~~ Love ~~ Live ~~ Pursue You Passions: Reach for your dreams and make them into reality ~~ Seek Happiness ~~ Be positive ~~ Be Healthy!!!!

What an explosive 4th of July it was, don’t you agree?  Feel free to share with us how you spent yours.  It was pretty cool for us; despite all the "running" back and forth to the house dealing with the pet, due to the Pet Hotels in our area being booked and over booked [no rooms in the inn].  In between the running we spent the weekend at our cozy, luxurious hotel in Capital Hill and had a fantastic time [especially being in the midst of the celebrations on Capital Hill on the 4th of July.]  I do hope you don’t mind me sharing some of the highlights of the weekend with you.

First off, have you noticed our "FlashPoint" has not been added for some weeks? It's all with good reason though.  You see our all round talented contributor and STAR of "FlashPoint" Mr. Hollis Lashley is off on a world-wind of excitement in his life.

July.1.2010-HollisLashleyBookLaunch 030.jpg (117691 bytes)Last Thursday-July 1st, Her Excellency Glenda Morean Phillip - Ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (Washington DC) hosted the launch of our STAR Mr. Lashley’s literary work.  As you must be aware Mr. Lashley recently published his motivating book of poetry entitled GiftsFromTheHeartBook.JPG (27943 bytes)"Gifts From The Heart", and we are thrilled that his first book launch was done in fine style and was very successful.  Being among the distinguished guest and community leaders at the Trinidad and Tobago Embassy, I felt a sense of pride due to the content and joy that was illuminating from Mr. Lashley’s face.

We suspect Mr. Lashley will have very little time for us (the little people among his circle,) but we know he is off doing the things he loves dearly – producing the music for a fascinating play, promoting and selling his book, acting and even writing more inspirational poems, and most importantly living his dreams.  We at Arious wish Mr. Lashley all the best in all he does.  You go boy…we are proud of you!!!  LOL...By the way Mr. Lashley, we are still waiting for our autographed copy of your book...LOL

Last Saturday – July 3rd, we dropped by a bit late at the salute for WPFW 89.3 FM Radio Host Mr. Tony Carr, who was saluted for being in the business for 30 years.  This special event was held at Reggae Icon Gregory Isaac’s show at Zanzibar on the waterfront.  What a fantastic turnout it was!!!! Lots and lots of people we haven’t seen for some time were in attendance.  The show (from what we made it on time to see) was good.  I personally missed the “Live Wyya” Reggae band, but Gregory was good TonyCarr&Friends-atSalute-July.3.2010.JPG (39503 bytes)as usual.  It certainly was a good night for Mr. Carr, who was beaming.  I think he was fascinated by his fans as much as I was.  Ah…Ha…Ha…Ha, it was funny watching beautiful women gushing over Mr. Carr.  We do wish Mr. Carr another 30+ years in the radio business.  All the best to you Mr. Carr in your professional career and in your life!!!

JAMAICaN-DAY_6x8_front[1].JPG (134078 bytes)Now let me move ahead a bit, because I want to share with you information on one of the biggest Caribbean Events that will be taking place in Maryland in the next week.  The "Jamaica Day Reggae Outdoor Festival” presented by The "Jamaica Promotional Company" (JPC), who will be celebrating its 4th year of hosting and bringing this event to you.

The Jamaica Promotional Company (JPC) is proud of their Jamaica Day Reggae Festival which was initiated four (4) years ago to support the building of a leadership training Institute for Kids that live in the Garrisons of Jamaica (poor youths).  There are no facilities that cater to that need.  JPC created a non-profit, Jamaica education for the poor foundation to facilitate that end.  The recent episode in Jamaica is a result of the non-existence of that kind of training [says JPC].  We encourage you to join JPC at their "Jamaica Day Reggae Outdoor Festival”, because all proceeds from the concert will specifically go to establishing the Center, and for you to enjoy the fantastic and "therapeutic Reggae Music".

The JPC was kind enough to supply some tickets to our readers and we thought the best way to give them away is to have a few trivia questions.  Please answer the below questions correctly, to be eligible to win a ticket to this fantastic event.  (Compliments of Jamaica Promotional Company).   Send your answers to:  tickets@ariousentertainment.usLook out for JPC's upcoming 1st Annual Caribbean Food and Wine Festival!!!  CLICK HERE FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS!
