Greetings on-Line Family,
Continuing to just update you on what's happening over the weekend locally. Our commentary will be forthcoming (real soon). Anyway, one event in particular is ICE Entertainment's “Howard University Homecoming Pre-Miami Carnival Jump Off” fete. Taking place on Friday, September 30th at the T&T Clubhouse on Georgia Ave., in WDC. Check out our “Events” page for details.
I was also informed of a fundraiser from the PanMasters
Steel Orchestra camp, actually it is being held by Lennard Jack of Pan Masters
and Ometha together with PanMasters Steel Orchestra itself.
This will take place on October 2, 2005 (this Sunday) and it will be dedicated to
Lennard Jack’s son Osaze who has been hospitalized for five months, and is
fighting for his life. I’m sure
this event will be a lot of fun, because I was told to inform you that all
percussionists are welcomed! Therefore,
feel free to bring your drums, iron, shack shacks, cowbells, rhythm sticks, or
anything to join in on the Rhythm Session Circle.
Congratulations to Jackie and Associates, his queens, kings, all his masqueraders and participants for a very successful Carnival season. We absolutely enjoyed working with Jackie, his wife (Janet), his kids and the whole crew this year! See all of you this weekend at the "Thank You" celebration.
As you know Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Carnivals are taking place next week, and a friend who is a local promoter along with his partners contacted us about their event that is taking place in Miami on Monday Morning, October 10th, so please check them out. See flyer below!
To the many who have suffered, endured and lost everything because of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, our prayers go out to you. These "crazy" events and times are so unexplained and really strange, but we must try to stay strong. Hold On...we pray that things will get better soon!!!
We are heading to Miami for their Carnivals, so we will link up, and get back on the "ball" sharing with you after we return. Have a safe and enjoyable weekend and if you are heading to Miami, have a nice time and be safe!!!
